Blog #45 Filming Day 2 - Scene 6, Shots 2-6
This portion of Scene 6 is the big cross cutting sequence of my film, an sequence I really wanted to incorporate being this is a horror short; some of the most iconic horror moments are watching the hero trek through, while we get glimpses of where the killer is, building plenty of suspense as the audience gets to see how close the killer is from our heroes while they are unaware.
This sequence was actually not very tricky to film at all, where the magic comes is, is really the editing, bringing 2 different shots to life in one tense and memorable scene.
In this shot Dillon and Anna have just met up, and now are walking back into Dillons house.
Dillon and Anna walk back into Dillons house holding hands - Two Shot- Tracking

Cultmember hides behind a tree and stalks Dillon and Anna, then sneaks inside the house after them - POV - Canted angle - Handheld
What begins as a seemingly wholesome shot (aside from the suggestive shots pointing out Anna may be suspicious) turns instantly into a suspenseful and thrilling scene, building tension, alerting to the audience something malicious is taking place, and the characters are in danger.
I am extremely happy with the final products of this scene, and am glad to be adding it to my film.
