For my first day of filming I wanted something easy that the cast could do to get the hang of shooting, thats still productive and for my film, so day 1 primarily focused on the montage in scene #4. The cast arrived around 4:30-5:00pm and we first did a table read of the whole script and the story boards, allowing the cast to resonate with the story and get into character. We also went over the scene layouts, but didn't spend too much time on them as we weren't going to shoot anything complex.
The field/ plane was great for filming, we caught the sun at a great time for the shots, and really just improvised almost everything in this scene to make it feel natural and to showcase Gavin and Lauren's chemistry on screen making Dillon and Anna all the more believable.
This was a great way for the cast to just have fun, get to know eachother, and get used to filming before we started any complex shots. I am very proud and super happy with all the shots I got, and I purposely shot more then I knew I would use so I can go through and choose my favorite ones and use some of them as buffers if the runtime for my film gets too lengthy.
