Blog #32 Filming Locations Decided - Planning Scenes

I have chosen my final filming locations, they will be; (in order of scenes)

  • my bedroom
  • my weightroom
  • the highschools hallways
  • my driveway
  • open plain
  • my living room
  • my frontyard
  • my kitchen
  • my backyard
Its quite convenient and easy for all my actors to show up, as there are truly only 2 locations, the highschool and my house. Now that I know where I will be filming, and I know the layouts of those places, I can plan out how I will shoot the more complex scenes in my film.

This is my filming plan for scene 3, where Anna asks out Dillon. I plan to uses some cut backs during this take, cuting to Anna's perspective as if she is stalking Dillon, hinting at her malicious truth of being in a cult. The shot will start as mid - lead tracking shot and pan to the side following Dillon walking and turn into an over the shoulder when Dillon meets Anna.

This is my filming plan for scene 4, where Dillon meets Anna for their date. This shot will not have any cuts to communicate a sense of peace and consistency Dillon feels. The shot will start as a mid shot, allow Dillon to walk infront of the camera and transition into a tracking shot which works as an over the shoulder as it shows Anna whom Dillon is looking at. Once they meet and hug the camera will pan.

This is my filming plan for scene 5, where Dillon calls Anna asking when she will be at his house for their next date. This will start as a mid shot, transition into a tracking shot and then into a pan around Dillon sitting down.

This is my filming plan for scene 6, where Dillon walks out of his house to wait for Anna, as we see a cult member sneak into his house, while Dillon is distracted by a strange noise. This shot will start as a lead tracking shot and transition into a traditional tracking shot.

This is my filming plan for scene 7, where Dillon and Anna walk into the kitchen, and as they are talking a cultmember walks by out of their view. This shot will start as a tracking shot and transition into a two shot (which partially works as a three shot as it show cases the cultmember in the background)

This is my filming plan for the final scene; 10, where after Dillon is killed, both cultmembers and Anna walk into the middle of the backyard, join hands and look up. This shot will start as a master shot, showing where all the characters are in the setting, and transition into a three shot, in which when the camera is away from Dillon's dead body, Gavin(actor for Dillon) will get up, get the leaf blower hidden on the set, and aim it at Anna and the cultmembers, giving the effect that wind is blowing on them, after which the camera will pan to the sky.

Now that I know where I will film and how I will film, I am almost fully ready to film. I believe filming could take 3 days if everything is done efficiently.
