Blog #30 Casting Cult Members

 I have had my 2 lead actors casted for quite some time now, but now that I get closer and closer to filming I must have my Cult Members casted, as the film doesn't work without them. This time around I have decided not to do a full casting call, but rather call back some actors I have worked with previously whom I know are great at their profession.


Cole Bryant


Robert Sokoll

I have selected Robert Sokoll and Cole Bryant due to my good experience working with them previously, and they have what I am looking for this time around; both actors did some stunts like running and falling, even assisting me on the practical effects of the film, which is very necessary as the Cult Members will be running, tackling and attacking Dillon(Gavin Jordan). They are also friends with my leads; Gavin and Lauren. It is important that all the actors get along in the film so that when they form alliances or share the screen in my film they act natural. 

Now that I have my full cast I can communicate with them, share them the script, and inform them on important updates and when filming dates will be.

  The Empty Man (2020) I want to make a horror short film that focuses on a single character who is alone in their house and is stalked and attacked by cult members. I plan to include a practical gore set piece in my short film, and I plan to base my short film off of themes of self love, identity, worthlessness and toxic relationships. Right now my ideas and plans are all over the place, and I will do research and brainstorming to lower down my thoughts and get a solid story with clear messaging. I also want to look back at my previous final project, which is also a horror film with a gore set piece, and piece out criticisms and improvements I can make this time around. As I am creating a short film focusing mainly on one character I will also look into short and effective forms of character development, so that my film can introduce it's character, play out its story and have clear messaging in a natural pace that keeps the audience entertained throughout.

SUBURBAN HOME - DILLONS BEDROOM - MORNING                        1 An alarm buzzes as DILLON wakes up to turn it off, and begins his morning routine; DILLON works out in his home gym, then opens instagram and looks at people's stories.
