Blog #24 Writing a Synopsis
Before I can start properly marketing my film, I must write a synopsis to inform my audience and viewers on the basic plot of my film. A good synopsis gives an accurate description of what to expect in a film's plot and story beats, while keeping secrets or reveals the film may contain hidden, and also using gripping words to make the film sound exciting, and to sell it to those whom read it.
Above is the J card for the Predator Badlands steelbook. A J card is an excellent example of how a films synopsis is used to market and sell it, the J card will be viewed by people looking to buy a film in a store, and will be what the customer bases their views on the film before buying it, so it must sound exciting and interesting.
Now that I understand the importance of the synopsis I will write mine to apply to the standards I went over.
