Blog Post #14 Finalizing The Basic Story

 

Longlegs (2024)

Here is the basic first rough draft for my film.

Dillon is at his house getting ready to go to school in an opening montage featuring cult dialogue and speeches and music leading into the title card. At school Dillon runs into a new girl from school Anna, Dillon asks her out on a date and then a montage of them spending time together plays, during Anna mentions she has barley any friends. Cuts to days later at Dillon's house, where him and Anna have planned a date, and Anna is on the way over to Dillon's house. Anna texts Dillon that she's almost there, so Dillon walks out of his house and sits and waits for her on a bench, then Dillon hears some weird noises coming from bushes near his house, so he walks up to investigate them, then in the background we can see someone sneak into Dillons front door and close it. Dillon hears the door and turns around to go back into his house. Dillon looks around his house in the dark to see if anyone is there, and calls out multiple times, throughout these scenes figures will be seen walking around in the background of his house. Dillon then finds an intruder and fights with them, their fight drags them out of the house into the backyard, Dillon knocks out the intruder. Once Dillon thinks it's over he looks into his backyard to see a fire and many figures staring at him off in the distance, he goes to run into the house but a cult member from inside his house grabs him and throws him out. Dillon trys to resist but is punched and falls on the ground, as a cult member walks up to him with a sledgehammer, a member walks up to Dillon, and is revealed as Anna as she tells Dillon "she'll always love him", they then drive the sledgehammer into Dillon's face, killing him. 2 members carry Dillons body and throw it into the fire, as all the members join together around the fire, panning up to a figure in the sky.
